Pam Kemp and the missus, Judith. She and John Middleton did all of the scoring on the night   Pam Kemp and Steve Ansell. We reckon Steve's outfit was inspired, while Pam looked absolutely stunning!   Pam Kemp and Judith again. That black wig looked fantastic on Pam.

Andrew, Ann, Peter and Sally from the Tempest Arms

Andy & Shirley Smith and co from Rolls Royce Leisure

Ellie Jackson and Annette Wilson between them have probably been to more of our quizzes than anyone else!

Owen and Avril Hardisty and family made a superb effort with their fancy dress - not enough people knew that it was fancy dress on the night

Owen looked so spooky I've had to enhance the picture in case he frightened the kids!

Avril and Owen Hardisty

David Harlock looks pensive as he prepares to take to the Big Black Chair

Diane and friends/family at Masterbrain for the first time

Nick, Steve and co from the Unicorn

Tango and the rest of the Gnomes, from the victorious Tempest Arms team

Team Rusty from the Tempest crew. Mike Smith is Masterbrain 2007 champion.

The TICs, the top scoring team on the night. Richard (on the right) was a first-time Masterbrain contestant

Avril looks a little shocked to be caught by the camera again!   What costumes! Moria Rapson (centre) was another first-timer in Masterbrain. She raised a magnificent £200 sponsorship!

Avril and I in our (by now) annual pose for the camera

MIKE SMITH

I present Richard Machin with the Pub Quiz Challenge shield. He represented the Tempest Arms, this years winners   Avril presents Mike Smith with the Masterbrain© trophy, sponsored once again by John Wilson of the Unicorn team. John is a printer - need owt printing?   And finally - was competition really THAT fierce on the night? Mark Hardisty put on a brave face despite his dreadful injury!

Blakey and Pam of the Rolls-Royce Leisure team pose for the camera. Has Steve nodded off? In the background John Wilson of the Unicorn holds forth

The Local Charity Support Group - Stan prepares for his coming ordeal, although he looks reasonably relaxed. Burni's looking a little bemused

Another Rolls team, looking relaxed and cheerful. Marion looks very serene in black. Little do they know what's in store in tonight's quiz!

Owen Hardisty in the big black chair as he hears he's just scored a remarkable 10 out of 10 in his specialist subject, Transport & Travel (specifically motorbikes & biking). Believe me, they were tough!

Former Masterbrain champion Steve Ansell - cool as a cucumber under a couple of kilowatts of light!

Another Rolls team - behind Peter Hartley you can see Mike Smith, this years new Masterbrain champion, with his team from the Tempest. Is Barbara Hartley saying a few prayers for her team?

And Steve Blake. He took to the big black chair voluntarily at the end of the night, answering questions on the Sport of Kings

John "Stan" Stanley gets his grilling. His specialist subject was "A Good Read"

Sally Clark of the Tempest team looks pensive as she gets past that big black chair as quickly as she can - there's NO WAY are we getting her in there!!

Avril Hardisty and Helen Bury smile for the camera - we reckon Owen Hardisty was looking a bit nervous at this stage

Ian & Sandra Dix and friends. They always enjoy the regular Friday night Fresh Radio quiz at Rolls Royce, and try to take part in just about everything we organise - much appreciated too!

Why's Martin Coates got his back to the camera? That's not like him! I'm not sure if that's Andy Smith on the left, but facing camera are Karen, Shirley and friends

Steve Ansell doesn't look terribly happy at this stage. I guess the trophy's not going his way this year

The event was great fun, we've had plenty of feedback from many of those who were there, and between us we raised over £251 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, our chosen Charity of the Year

And finally, Ellie Jackson gives me my grilling at the end of the night
